Gateway Goes beyOnd™ for its Customers

During the past 12 months, Gateway Packaging and Nestlé Purina, one of the leading global players in the pet care industry, teamed-up to develop a more environmentally responsible package for Purina ONE®’s newest and groundbreaking dog and cat food brand—beyOnd™.

As a key supplier of small bags for Nestlé Purina Petcare, Gateway was given the opportunity to work with Nestlé Purina to create their first-ever sustainable pet food bag.

Although Nestlé Purina initially came to the table with the idea for a renewable pet food bag, Gateway Packaging was the one with the capabilities to fullfill the request—supplying soy-based inks, SFI certified paper based substrates, and 100% compostable PLA film—in order to develop a 92% renewable pet food bag for Nestlé Purina.

Nestlé Purina launched their ONE beyOnd product line in early 2011.
